Local 342 Members Care and Give in Times of Need for the 2009 Thanksgiving Food Drive

With one in eight Americans facing hunger each day, the demand for food donations has increased by thirty percent. Local 342 members rallied together to assist with community support programs in their neighborhoods by participating in the Local 342 Thanksgiving Food Drive 2009.
Hundreds of members flocked to the Local 342 Area Offices to drop off Frozen Turkeys, Stuffing and all the trimmings to make this years drive a total success. Over 270 Turkey dinners were prepared for families in our communities this thanksgiving thanks to the generous donations of Local 342 members.
The Local 342 Activities Committee worked closely with organizations such as Meals on Wheels and the Church of St.

Clare in Staten Island, Angel Guardian in Brooklyn, Lighthouse Mission in Patchogue, Calvary Chapel in Holbrook, Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church and Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, as well as Faith Baptist Church in Hempstead. Carloads of dinners were dropped off by the Activities Committee members to help others enjoy a traditional holiday meal.
