Local 342 has always taken great pride in treating all of its members, including its Part-Time members, with dignity and respect. While many other Unions have often looked upon their Part-Timers as minor pieces to the puzzle, Local 342 has seen them as major contributors to a first-class labor organization. Going into 2010, Local 342 is vowing not only to continue this philosophy, but instead ratchet it up a notch by giving Part-Timers more opportunities and attention than ever.

2010 will be a special year for Local 342 and its Part-Time members. Local 342 will be providing its Part-Timers with an interesting new webpage, several new Union functions geared toward Part-Timers, and a program that will give Part-Timers a chance to participate in Union activities. Local 342 will also be looking to Part-Timers for input on their job conditions as we head into contract negotiations with many major companies in 2011. In order for Local 342 to grow as a Union, it will need its Part-Time members to be more committed and involved than ever before.

All Part-Timer members can keep track of the exciting changes that will take place this year by visiting the “Part-Timer” section of the website, speaking to their Shop Stewards about any new informational flyers they receive, and checking out the special two-page layout dedicated to Part-Time members that will be in the soon to be released Union newspaper, the “Forefront.” Help Local 342 make 2010 a special year, and always remember that… Local 342 is Fully Committed to Part-Time Members!
